What to expect

Discover the Mexican peninsula with a full-day tour including Tulum, Cenotes, and Playa del Carmen, and taste a traditional buffet lunch on the way.

Tulum will be the first stop of the tour. Here you'll be captivated by the archaeological remains and stunning beaches. Continue to Coba Mayan ruins and admire the tallest Pyramid called Nohoch Mul, then swim in the Cenote Kuxtal.

After this exciting adventure, enjoy a traditional Mexican buffet. After lunch, the excursion will continue visiting a cenote, a refreshing natural body of water with a remarkable surrounding environment. Enjoy a free hour to swim and dive in.

The last stop before heading back to the hotels will be the small vibrant city of Playa del Carmen, where you'll find souvenir stores and all kinds of attractions. Spend one hour here before boarding the vehicle and make your way back to Cancun.

Pickups are available for hotels in Cancún Downtown, Mayan Riviera, Akumal, Punta Maroma, Puerto Aventuras, and Puerto Morelos. Please provide your hotel name and address at checkout. If you're staying in a different accommodation, please contact the local operator after booking to arrange the pickup at one of the authorized meeting points in Cancún, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum.

Your guide will give you a limited time to look around at every spot, it's very important to follow up on the instructions and be punctual. In case you do not meet the guide's established schedules, the guide will wait for tolerance time and go to the next place
For Tulum guests, after completing the Coba, Tulum, cenote, and restaurant tour, you can choose whether you prefer to be dropped off at Tulum Super Aki. The tour operator can arrange this drop-off before heading to Playa del Carmen. If you opt for Playa del Carmen, please note that the bus will not return to drop you off; the driver will need to drop off other customers. Therefore, if you choose Playa del Carmen, you must make your own return arrangements
For guests staying at hotels between Tulum and 5th Avenue Playa del Carmen: if you want to go to 5th Avenue, you must make your own return arrangements because the bus cannot go back. If you do not wish to go to Playa del Carmen, you will be dropped off at your hotel. Guest staying at the most distant hotels and those close to Playa del Carmen will be dropped off on 5th Avenue, being the last stop, or at the official and established boarding point you were given at the beginning
The local provider will pick up and gather everyone in smaller vehicles. The last meeting point is where the main bus will be waiting
The local operator is not responsible for items left on the vehicle, so make sure you have everything at hand before getting off the vehicle
The tour can vary in duration, up to 14 hours or more depending on the transfers from one place to another and the traffic
The tour is free for children under 3 years old if they sit on their parent's lap during the ride

Get a close-up look at Maya history and traditions on this off-the-beaten-track tour. You'll visit the ancient Maya city of Ek' Balam – the most recent to be opened to the public – as well as Yalcoba to swim in the cenote and a stop in Valladolid. Francesca, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Archaeologists only began uncovering Ek' Balam in 1985, and they're still digging away today. It's a more complete site than many others, and you can still imagine daily life in the Maya town going on around you as you explore. But the main reason I enjoy Ek' Balam is that there are so few visitors.'We'll start the adventure with a guided visit of Ek' Balam, which translates as ‘Black Jaguar.' The site has more than 40 structures and its walls formed a maze, while the main pyramid, known as the Acropolis, has a well-preserved entrance surrounded by the open jaws and fangs of a jaguar. It's bigger than even El Castillo at Chichen Itzá. Best of all, you can climb to the top – which few Maya sites allow.Afterwards, we'll head to Yalcoba where you can try your hand at chocolate-making and learn how to craft obsidian at a workshop. Its mangroves, coral reefs, wildlife and archaeological sites mean that it's both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve, a rare double that puts it in the Champions League of natural parks. Manon, one of our expert local guides, says, “I first came to Sian Ka'an as a visitor on holidays from Normandy and totally fell in love with it – now I work in this paradise. I come here every day and have never lived the same experience twice.” The adventure begins the moment you step onto the boat to explore the dense mangroves. As you navigate through the reserve, you'll be surrounded by flora and fauna – over 300 species call this place home, including birds, crocodiles and dolphins. As the boat drifts along, your guide will point out unique plant species that thrive in this wetland ecosystem, explaining their vital roles in maintaining the ecological balance. Then, you'll head out into the Caribbean Sea to snorkel in one of the best-preserved reefs in the area. You'll also drop the anchor at a shallow stretch of sand with low tides and crystal-clear waters, known locally as La Piscina. Then, the afternoon is all about unwinding.
