Things to do in The London Dungeon
Founded in 1974 by Annabel Geddes the London Dungeon was initially a gruesome wax museum of the city's history. Nowadays it still offers up all of the history, gory and dark as it is, but with a quirky and fun side. Actors perform around you, letting you live the events of the past, you'll meet Jack the Ripper, Sweeney Todd and Henry VIII, and you'll learn about everything from the Black Death to the Great Fire of London to the Mrs Lovett's Pie shop, where even you yourself could be put in pastry. Careful though, and keep your wits about you as embark on dangerous boat rides, try and avoid angry executioners and drop to your potential demise on a free drop ride. You'll be left quaking in your boots and with a head full of knowledge.
The Dungeon is open every day of the year other than Christmas day, but opening and closing times vary, so please check the website.
