The trekking starts on the Paul da Serra plateau, the most extensive one in Madeira, and ends at Fanal, offering you the chance to observe the exuberant Laurissilva vegetation.
The walk along this levada has moderate difficulty and a total length of 11.5 km. You will discover how the levadas are used to bring water from the northern side of Madeira to the South. You will also admire the UNESCO-protected site of Laurissilva forest, with its ancient trees and a variety of birds.
During the walk, you will also enjoy a stunning view of the Valley of Ribeira da Janela and Chão da Ribeira.
