What to expect

Santo Domingo's UNESCO-listed old town is a treasure trove of architectural and historical gems. As the first European-built city in the Americas, it tells a fascinating story of the colonial conquest of the ‘New World' better than any other city. You'll discover the major sights on this private sightseeing tour with an expert guide and vehicle reserved just for your party. A classic tour of Santo Domingo kicks off at Independence Park before heading into the colonial zone's cobbled streets. You'll see heritage sites dating back to the 15th century and visit the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Maria and the Alcazar de Colon, which belonged to Christopher Columbus's family. Find out more with a 4D cinema experience recounting a notorious battle for the city on New Year's Day of 1586.

You can also hop aboard a mini-train for a tour of the colonial zone before stopping for lunch.
