What to expect

This tour will give you the opportunity to avoid the crowds and get the most knowledge of the archaeological site of Chichen Itza. Arriving at the site, a specialized guide will give you a detailed explanation of the site, enjoying the tranquility of your morning visit before most of the crowds arrive.

The guide will provide archaeological essential background so you better understand the history of this wonderful place. Discover how this pre-Columbian city played an important role in the Mayan civilization around 600 AD to 1200 and remained a center of worship and pilgrimage until the arrival of the Spaniards. Even today, it is still considered sacred by the Mayan people of the Yucatan site.

Like many of the cities of ancient Mexico, the site was abandoned, and its ruins were hidden in the jungle. This archaeological site has earned the protection of UNESCO and today it’s considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

After admiring the views, you'll have a Mexican buffet lunch and have the opportunity to relax in a magical Cenote before heading back to Cancún.

It's a more complete site than many others, and you can still imagine daily life in the Maya town going on around you as you explore. The site has more than 40 structures and its walls formed a maze, while the main pyramid, known as the Acropolis, has a well-preserved entrance surrounded by the open jaws and fangs of a jaguar. It's bigger than even El Castillo at Chichen Itzá. Best of all, you can climb to the top – which few Maya sites allow.Afterwards, we'll head to Yalcoba where you can try your hand at chocolate-making and learn how to craft obsidian at a workshop. Then, you'll head out into the Caribbean Sea to snorkel in one of the best-preserved reefs in the area.
