On the 19th of September 2021 a new volcanic crater was formed near La Palma. The volcano previously known as Cumbre Vieja erupted, completely changing the landscape west of the city. Hiking 5km on the newly christened Tajogaite - cracked mountain - you'll almost reach the crater. From here, awesome views of the lava flows and the Aridane Valley open up.
