You'll need to have your camera on hand for this easy half-day hike from Campanario in southern Madeira. As you follow the levada across the Serra de Agua, you'll be treated to view after view over the south coast, Encumeada pass and the small town of Ribeira Brava.

From Campanario, you'll set off on a two-and-a-half-hour walk along the levada – a network of water channels that zigzag their way from north to south carrying much-needed water. You'll discover one of the most beautiful parts of the Serra de Agua parish as you trace a small section of this 65km-long levada.
