What to expect

Take the plunge and discover Turkey's underwater world in a trip that caters for complete beginners, seasoned pros and everyone in between. You'll go to two dives in the waters off Marmaris, where there are reefs, tunnels and shipwrecks to explore.

Depending on conditions and your experience, your instructors will chose the best location for the dives. Discover exotic marine life, feed the fish, and explore this colourful world in warm, crystal-clear waters.

And if diving isn't for you, you can still join your partner but simply spend the day sunbathing, swimming or snorkelling.

What to remember

Minimum age is 12 years
This tour isn't suitable for guests with diabetes, hypertension, lung disease or asthma
There must be at least a 12-hour period of time between diving and flying in an aircraft
This tour can be booked for non-divers in resort, along with a diver booking made online
Please advise of any dietary requirements at time of booking
Guests who're unwell or have the flu will not be able to dive into the water
It's not permitted to dive after consuming alcohol
Experienced divers can pay a €10 supplement directly to the supplier to dive according to their own qualifications. Instead of the usual 20-25 minute dives at five metres, you can enjoy 40-45 minute dives at your qualified depth. Just bring your proof of qualification and log book, and the supplier will check them on the day due to Coast Guard rules. If they can't confirm your qualification, you'll be limited to five metre dives

Helpful instructors and staff. Good English. One person on the boat could not dive as he had diabetes type 1. There needs to be some more information before you book for medical conditions that stop you diving. Sometimes it's possible to get a doctors cert in the resort to say your good to dive (at a cost).

It was a great experience, well worth the money, I would take extra money for the second dive if you want to gain a certificate and to get ,photos and drinks. Take your own lunch, the sandwich is basic and not to everyone’s tastes.

You'll then add a little history and culture to the mix, as you continue on the riverboat past Lycian Rock Tombs – dating back to 400BC – carved into the cliffs.As the river widens into a lagoon, you'll have the chance to spot birdlife before docking at Iztuzu Beach. This 4km-long sweep of golden sand divides the river from the sea, a natural oasis that's a true haven for wildlife. Sheltered by mountains, the beach shelves gently into a calm bay, where an afternoon of pure relaxation beckons. Round off your day with the return relaxing river cruise to Dalyan.

They are dramatically lit in the evening – it's a really atmospheric experience.'First up, you'll have a couple of hours to explore Dalyan's historic town centre under the twinkle of dusk. It's home to a variety of shops, cafés, and historical sites, and known for its traditional Turkish architecture, with Ottoman influences from the 16th-century. Look out for the intricately decorated Dalyan mosque – and the friendly locals.After your free time in town, it's time for dinner. You'll tuck into a Turkish barbecue at a riverside restaurant where you can relax and enjoy the locally sourced, freshly prepared food. And to round off the evening, you'll enjoy a tranquil boat ride along the Dalyan River to see the famous Lycian tombs carved into the rock face.
